Celebrate Groundhog Day | 1.24 Come help Sir Arthur the Groundhog and the Cottage Grove Lions Club celebrate teh Lions Ground Hog Day on Saturday, Jan. 28. Will Sir Arthur see his shadow? Festivities begin at sun-up with Sir Arthur looking for his shadow and the arrival of Boss Hog and the Hog Queen. A special Hog Day breakfast will be served from 7-11 a.m.. Cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 5-8. All events take place at Flynn Hall Community Center, 116 Reynolds Street, Cottage Grove. Monona Library eliminates overdue fines | 12.29 The Monona Public Library will no longer charge overdue fees on materials checked out at the library, beginning on January 2, 2012. The Monona Library Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve the change at its December 20 meeting. The Monona Library will be only the second library in the South Central Library System to not charge patrons for overdue materials, joining Middleton's library. Read the full story here.
